TMT Bars

Thermo-mechanically treated steel bars are used in the construction industry.

It is obtained by rolling the billets and quenching and tempering the bars using Tempcore technology to enhance strength and ductility, properties critical for making steel reinforcements for buildings.

Sponge Iron or Direct Reduced Iron (DRI)

Sponge Iron can be directly used in electric furnaces for producing molten steel.

It is obtained by direct reduction of iron ore with the help of reducing gases (a mixture of Hydrogen and Carbon Monoxide) in kilns at a temperature of 800 to 1050 degrees Celsius without melting.

  • Fe, Metallic 81-84
  • Metallisation – 88-90
  • Sulphur – 0.03 Max
  • Phosphorus – 0.05 Max

Ferro Alloys

Ferro-Silicon, Silico-Manganese and Ferro-Manganese alloys are used as inputs in alloy steel production.

Ferroalloys are obtained by smelting the ores in electric arc furnaces at temperatures of 1350 to 1500 degrees Celsius.

1. Ferro Silicon

Its chemical composition:

  • Si – 70% to 75%
  • C – 7% to 8%
  • S – 0.05%
  • P – 0.4%

Its chemical composition:

  • Mn – 59% to 65%
  • Si – 13% to 15%

Iron Ore Pellets

Iron Ore Pellets are used for steel-making in the blast furnace or direct reduction kilns.

Iron ore is mixed with other minerals like dolostone, limestone, olivine and bentonite and converted to balls of 8 to 18 mm size, which are then hardened by sintering.
